Social Media - new to the game

I am very behind when it comes to social media. I don't have a personal facebook account and only put a basic listing for the business. Don't post any messages or anything as yet.

Just wondering if you have any tips, suggestions and how effective you have found the whole social media thing for your business.

I get quite a bit of business off mine. I've only got less than 1,000 likers but it works. Its free (except time) and I can use it for little giveaways and give a plug of new products - FB is how lots of companies I partner with or work together with have found me. I think it has potential to be a big earner for all of us.
Surprising numbers of people shop and look for things on there.
I used to have Clever Streak manage it for me ($99 per month) but I'm doing it myself now. The best responses I ever get are from bad jokes! People love the funnies.

I think its one of those affiliate apps that float around. I think if you click on mine you can get it for your page. I got it from someone else, can't recall who. A competitor, lol.
